About the Role
Keoghs is seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Finance Compliance Manager to lead our regulatory compliance efforts across all legal entities and jurisdictions. This is a pivotal role as we embark on an exciting journey to upgrade our finance systems and enhance operational excellence.
You'll be a subject matter expert and a key contributor in aligning our finance processes with regulatory standards and client expectations, while managing a small team of experienced Legal Cashiers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of Legal Cashiers, ensuring high performance and smooth transition to our new finance system.
- Oversee all regulatory compliance in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), LSI, and LSNI.
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting on out-of-office payments and client account balances.
- Maintain and review the internal breach register, ensuring thorough documentation, investigation, and resolution.
- Coordinate and support external SAR audits, including site visits to our Belfast office.
- Provide training and updates on regulatory compliance across the team and wider firm.
- Handle complex internal and external finance queries with professionalism and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance and other managers on system upgrades and future integrations.
- Support the onboarding of new clients and acquisitions from a finance compliance perspective.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proven experience in a high-volume legal finance environment.
- Strong knowledge of SAR, LSI, and LSNI compliance.
- Experience working with auditors and managing regulatory audits.
- Previous involvement in finance system upgrades (ideally 3E).
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing direct reports.
- Excellent time management, communication, and analytical skills.
- A proactive, innovative mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
