Job summary

Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Registry Officer to its Registry team. The role involves supporting central academic administration with a focus on regulations, student finance, records, and course documentation.

You will handle queries from students and staff and maintain records to a high standard. Experience in higher education, particularly dealing with student finance, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Dealing with student and staff queries, monitoring and maintaining academic and student records, and responding to requests for information.
  • Overseeing FE bursaries (in line with DfE guidance), HE Bursaries and the HE Hardship Fund.
  • Providing accurate advice and guidance to current students, prospective students, staff and external agencies.
  • Liaising with the Student Loans Company regarding student registration and attendance.
  • Assisting in the administration of Assessment and Award Board procedures, including Unit Assessment Boards, Progression & Award Boards, and Appeals Panels.
  • Advising students and staff regarding all aspects of academic regulations and related policies and procedures.

Job description

Salary: Band 5 - starting salary £32,722 with annual, incremental progression up to £33,662

Hours: 37 hours / 5 days per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Arts University Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Registry Officer to its Registry team.

The Registry team supports all areas of central academic administration, with a focus on academic regulations, student finance/funding, academic records, award verification and course documentation/quality.

Day to day you will be dealing with student and staff queries, monitoring and maintaining academic and student records and responding to requests for information. This role will be heavily focused on all areas of student funding including loans, bursaries and hardship funds.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong customer focus with excellent communication skills, efficient administrative skills and the ability to work to a high level of accuracy. You will need to be adaptable to different situations and be able to use your judgement to deal with complex queries . Relevant experience in a Higher Education setting, including dealing with student finance, would be a distinct advantage.

About The Role:

Overseeing FE bursaries (in line with DfE guidance), HE Bursaries and the HE Hardship Fund

Providing accurate advice and guidance to current students, prospective students, staff and other external agencies

To liaise with, and provide accurate information to the Student Loans Company regarding student registration and attendance

Assisting in the administration of Assessment and Award Board procedures, including Unit Assessment Boards, Progression & Award Boards, and Appeals Panels

Advising students and staff regarding all aspects of academic regulations and the related policies and procedures
