Job summary

Alpha Vets is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our clinical team across Risca and Langstone sites. You’ll deliver nursing care, run nurse consultations and manage various clinical duties within a supportive primary care environment.

You will collaboratively work with Veterinary Surgeons, manage surgical caseloads including laparoscopic and orthopaedic procedures, and support pain management with K-Laser therapy. A proactive, team-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload.
• Run nurse consultations, weight management clinics and cat clinics.
• Provide inpatient and kennel nursing care.
• Support theatre and surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and orthopaedic cases.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and recovery.
• Support dispensary duties and the safe management of medications.
• Work with our K-Laser therapy service to support rehabilitation and pain management.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients.
• Work collaboratively with clinical, nursing and reception colleagues across both sites.
