We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Alpha Vets on a full-time basis.

Since opening in 1996, Alpha Vets has continually invested in providing excellent facilities for both our patients and our team. We’re also excited to be relocating our Risca branch to a brand-new, purpose-built practice at the end of 2026.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care while supporting excellent experiences for our clients and patients.

You’ll work collaboratively with Veterinary Surgeons and the wider practice team across our Risca and Langstone sites, taking responsibility for a varied first opinion caseload and contributing to high clinical standards throughout the practice.

Your role will include nurse consultations, weight management clinics, cat clinics, inpatient and kennel care, theatre nursing, dispensary duties and supporting our reception team. You’ll also play an active role in our surgical caseload, including laparoscopic spays and orthopaedic procedures, with opportunities to work with our K-Laser therapy service to support patient rehabilitation and pain management.

Working Pattern

  • 38 hours per week
  • Either 8 or 9 Saturdays per year, 8:00am – 12:30pm
  • No out-of-hours requirement
  • Based across our Risca and Langstone sites

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
  • Run nurse consultations, weight management clinics and cat clinics
  • Provide inpatient and kennel nursing care
  • Support theatre and surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and orthopaedic cases
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and recovery
  • Support dispensary duties and the safe management of medications
  • Work with our K-Laser therapy service to support rehabilitation and pain management
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, nursing and reception colleagues across both sites
