Job description

Grove Vets in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a nurse-led practice, working alongside a supportive team of 4 vets and experienced support staff.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Conduct full nurse consultations (9:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
  2. Assist with surgeries and anaesthesia
  3. Perform laboratory work, x-rays, and ultrasound
  4. Provide dental care, inpatient care, and hydrotherapy
  5. Play an active role in rehabilitation services
  6. Handle general nursing duties and patient care across species

One of our RVNs is expanding her expertise through a physiotherapy and rehabilitation course. Additionally, our team includes a surgeon qualified in ophthalmology and visiting cardiology specialists, offering diverse and advanced cases.

Flexible Rota for a Better Work-Life Balance

We prioritize work-life balance with flexible rotas and working hours. Our latest shifts finish at 7 pm, allowing time for personal life. Typical shifts include:

  • 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
  • 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

While we prefer a 35-hour work week, part-time options are available. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
