Job description

Join the Oakfield Team as a Registered Veterinary Nurse

A varied role in a friendly, supportive, and forward-thinking practice

Are you a dedicated and passionate RVN looking for your next opportunity? Oakfield Veterinary Group in Tamworth is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our committed team and play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care.

Enjoy a Role with Real Variety

In this position, no two days are the same. You’ll be involved in a wide range of nursing duties, including anaesthesia, prep and theatre support, nurse consultations, inpatient care, and occasional cover on reception. This diverse role offers great exposure and continuous learning within a supportive team environment.

You’ll be working 8-hour shifts scheduled between 8am-7pm, Monday to Friday, with a shared Saturday rota. There are no out-of-hours, Sunday, or Bank Holiday requirements, allowing for a great work-life balance.

Modern Facilities with a Longstanding Reputation

Oakfield Veterinary Group is a well-established practice with a loyal client base and strong community presence. Based in Tamworth with excellent links to Birmingham and beyond, our practice has recently undergone refurbishment and is equipped with modern, purpose-built facilities. We have consulting rooms, an operating theatre, Idexx lab, digital and dental x-ray, laser technology, ultrasound (including cardiac scanning), and we also offer care for exotic pets.

A Supportive and Collaborative Team

Across our three branches, you’ll be joining a friendly and cohesive team of 7 vets, 14 nurses, 4 VCAs, 3 receptionists, a client coordinator, a practice manager, and a clinical director. We work closely together, holding regular team and clinical meetings, and we actively encourage development - including funding and support for certificates. If you’re looking for a place where you can grow and feel part of a genuine team, we’d love to welcome you.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need to be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with a proactive and caring attitude. Whether you’re looking to build on your existing experience or take the next step in your career, you’ll find plenty of opportunity to develop and thrive with us.
