The Package
Our Client is an independently owned practice seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated team.
The role is a full-time position with a 45-hour working week, Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 18:30, including a one-hour lunch break. The weekend rota operates on a 1-in-4 basis, including Friday on-call, Saturday in-practice from 10:00 to 16:00, followed by on-call through to Monday morning.
A lieu day is provided the following Tuesday after a worked weekend. Additional fees are paid for weekend work and call-outs, with compensation for travel time. Reduced hours may be considered, but participation in the weekend and on-call rota is required.
The practice is an RCVS-approved nurse training facility with a small but dedicated team. They provide primary care for small animals and offer comprehensive diagnostics and 24-hour emergency services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of nursing duties, including animal handling, nurse consultations, theatre preparation, anaesthetic monitoring, X-ray positioning, and patient care. Additional responsibilities include maintaining hygiene standards, laboratory sample collection, stock management, and assisting in surgeries.
The ideal candidate will be RCVS-registered with strong client communication skills, a professional approach, accurate record-keeping, and an organised work ethic.
The practice is well-equipped, offering facilities for diagnostics, anaesthesia, surgical procedures, and hospitalisation.
