Job summary

IVC Evidensia’s Manor Vets in Shirley is seeking a registered veterinary nurse to join a large, friendly team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role covers varied nursing care across first opinion cases, with a supportive practice environment and opportunities for professional development.

You will work 40 hours per week, with shifts 8:00–19:30 Monday–Friday, one in three Saturdays, on-call duties, and a rota for bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience working in clinical practice with nursing skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Good organisational skills to manage workload.
• Proactive learning, reflection and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload.
• Support inpatient care, theatre practice and anaesthesia monitoring.
• Run nurse consultations and support patient admissions and discharges.
• Carry out basic laboratory tasks and support diagnostic procedures.
• Triage patients and assist with incoming calls where required.
