Job summary

Alpha Vets in Newport area is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis across Risca and Langstone sites. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, run nurse consultations, and support our surgical caseload in a collaborative practice environment.

The role includes weight management clinics, cat clinics, theatre nursing, dispensary duties and opportunities to engage with K-Laser therapy for rehabilitation. 38 hours per week with no out-of-hours requirement.

Qualifications

• RCVS registered veterinary nurse
• Experience in clinical practice with medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication and teamwork with clients and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
• Run nurse consultations, weight management clinics and cat clinics
• Provide inpatient and kennel nursing care
• Support theatre and surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and orthopaedic cases
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and recovery
• Support dispensary duties and safe management of medications
• Collaborate with the K-Laser therapy service for rehabilitation and pain management
• Communicate professionally with clients
• Work with teams across Risca and Langstone sites
