Job summary

Inspiring Vet Care is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the South Wales Vets team in Abertillery on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role supports first opinion care within a three-branch practice, working 40 hours across 4 days plus Saturdays, with no out-of-hours work.

You’ll conduct nurse-led consultations, monitor patients, administer meds and assist with perioperative care, collaborating with vets and the practice team to uphold high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS is required.
• Preferably at least one year of post-qualification experience.
• Experience in clinical practice with confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nurse-led consultations and provide client education.
• Provide high-quality nursing care, monitor patients, administer medications and support recovery.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anaesthesia and provide perioperative and post-operative care.
