Job description

Join the Blaise Team as a Daytime Emergency Nurse Deliver life-saving care in a dynamic, forward-thinking referral environment

We are delighted to open applications for a confident, compassionate RVN to join our Emergency Team at Blaise Veterinary Referrals as a Daytime Emergency Nurse. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in a cutting-edge facility where every day makes a difference.

Help Shape the Future of Emergency and Critical Care

Blaise Veterinary Referral Centre is a large-scale, multi-disciplinary, specialist-led hospital built on IVC Evidensia's core values. It plays a key role in our ever-expanding referral network, offering exceptional patient care across multiple disciplines. Our 24/7 Emergency Service, run in partnership with Vets Now, supports both local first opinion practices and our internal referral caseload, providing round-the-clock expertise.

Confident, Capable, and Compassionate

In this varied and rewarding role, you'll be responsible for triaging emergency cases, managing inpatient care, and delivering high-level anaesthesia support during emergency procedures. As part of the Emergency Team, you’ll be required to work independently at times - including as the sole nurse on duty - as well as collaborate within the wider clinical team. Your role will include:

*Emergency triage and stabilisation

*Inpatient care in our ICU, general and isolation wards

*Monitoring and assisting with emergency anaesthesia

*Consulting with owners and supporting clinical decision-making

Your ability to confidently assess and prioritise cases, combined with a calm and focused approach, will be key in delivering timely, gold-standard care. Whether supporting surgical cases, managing complex medical patients, or coordinating triage workflows, your impact will be immediate and meaningful.

Ongoing Professional Development

We’re committed to investing in our people. You’ll benefit from a generous CPD allowance, access to ECC-specific training, and the opportunity to pursue further qualifications such as the ECC certificate. Our hospital culture encourages continuous learning, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position comprising 40 hours per week. The rota follows a 4-on, 4-off pattern and includes weekend and bank holiday cover:

*2 early shifts (06:00-17:25)

*2 late shifts (11:00-22:25)

*4 days off

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an experienced, motivated RVN who is confident working both independently and as part of a wider clinical team. You’ll need strong triage and inpatient nursing skills, a proactive, hands-on approach to emergency care, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes. While experience in ECC is desirable, full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Because Our People Matter

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises, and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary up to £33,500pa (plus pro-rata uplift for late shifts), you will benefit from:
