Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join the critical care audit team within the critical care facilities in the Bart’s Heart Centre. The Critical Care Audit Team forms part of a larger Cardiac Audit Programme within the organisation.

A Critical Care Audit Nurse will be expected to work constructively within the audit team to collect, collate, and evaluate data relating to patients from hospital admission to post-discharge. The role involves assisting in delivering the audit programme and ensuring data quality meets national standards and regulations. Responsibilities include data analysis, monitoring performance indicators, and supporting service developments.

The successful candidate will receive support to develop an understanding of clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, and governance. Full training is provided, but a clinical background in critical care and knowledge of critical care audit are preferred.

This is a part-time position. The team works Monday to Friday during daytime hours, with no bank holidays, and flexible work patterns may be available after proving independence. If interested, we would like to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

To collect, collate, and evaluate data on critical care patients from admission to post-discharge, ensuring data validation, analysis, and presentation according to deadlines and standards. The role supports improving patient care through clinical audits, measuring quality targets, and participating in research. It also contributes to hospital administration by providing operational data for managerial decisions, strategic planning, and billing purposes.
