Job summary

South Wales Vets in Abertillery is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll contribute to high-quality first-opinion care within a three-branch practice and play a key role in client education and patient wellbeing.

Based at our Abertillery site, you’ll work as part of a friendly clinical team, delivering nurse-led services, monitoring patients, and supporting procedures and perioperative care while maintaining

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Ideally, at least one year of post-qualification experience.
• Experience working in clinical practice, with confidence in medical and surgical nursing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nurse-led consultations and provide client education.
• Provide high-quality nursing care, monitor patients, administer medications and support recovery.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anaesthesia and provide perioperative and post-operative care.
