Job summary

inspiring vet care seeks a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join Nithsdale Vets on a full-time fixed-term basis. The role is based across two sites in Thornhill and Dumfries, with a wide caseload and opportunities to develop skills in medical and surgical nursing.

You will work as part of a clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care, supporting client experiences, and maintaining detailed medical records while participating in a structured rota across days, on-call and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Nithsdale Vets on a full-time fixed-term basis.

We are a two-site small animal practice based in Thornhill and Dumfries, both equipped to a high standard to support excellent clinical care. With a wide and varied caseload, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across a broad spectrum of medical and surgical cases.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
  • Full-Time working 40 hours per week
  • Working on a rota basis Monday to Friday with shifts between 8am-7pm
  • 1 weeknight on call and 1 in every 4 weekend on calls
  • Saturday on-call duties from 9:00am to 2:00pm

General Responsibilities Include:
