Job summary

inspiring vet care, the UK’s leading vet care provider, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join Nithsdale Vets on a full-time fixed-term basis. Our two-site practice in Thornhill and Dumfries delivers high‑quality nursing care across a broad case mix.

You’ll work 40 hours weekly on a Monday–Friday rota with some on‑call and weekend duties, run nurse clinics, assist with anaesthesia, maintain records and support the clinical team with diagnostics in a friendly, community‑minded

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Nithsdale Vets on a full-time fixed-term basis.

We are a two-site small animal practice based in Thornhill and Dumfries, both equipped to a high standard to support excellent clinical care. With a wide and varied caseload, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across a broad spectrum of medical and surgical cases.

Our practices benefit from modern facilities and equipment, enabling us to provide a high standard of patient care while supporting the ongoing development of our clinical teams.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• Full-Time working 40 hours per week
• Working on a rota basis Monday to Friday with shifts between 8am-7pm
• 1 weeknight on call and 1 in every 4 weekend on calls
• Saturday on-call duties from 9:00am to 2:00pm

General Responsibilities Include:

• Deliver high standards of patient and inpatient nursing care

• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
• Support veterinary surgeons with diagnostics and laboratory procedures
