Job summary

Chine House Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) for maternity cover (9-12 months). Applications from 3rd year SVNs will also be considered. You will join a busy, RCVS-accredited small animal hospital with its own out-of-hours service and a strong focus on high-quality patient care.

The role offers 37.5 hours per week with early to late shifts, including OOH, night and weekend work, plus opportunities to work with exotic cases with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified RVN or 3rd year SVN with clinical training.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work well within a busy hospital environment.
• Interest in exotics is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) - Maternity Cover (9-12 Months)

Chine House Veterinary Hospital

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) to join our team at Chine House Veterinary Hospital on a 9-12 month maternity cover basis. We would also consider applications from 3rd year Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs).

About Us

Chine House is a friendly, RCVS-accredited small animal hospital with an excellent reputation for delivering high standards of patient care. We are proud to run our own out-of-hours service, providing continuity of care for our patients.

Our purpose-built hospital is well-equipped, featuring:

• Separate cat, dog, and exotic wards
• 4 operating theatres
• Dedicated dental and imaging suites
• In-house laboratory and digital X-ray
• Multiple consulting rooms

We also have a separate Equine Hospital on site, making this a diverse and interesting environment to work in.

The Team

You'll be joining a large, supportive team comprising:

• 11 Small Animal Vets
• 18 RVNs and SVNs
• 3 Auxiliary Nurses
• 13 Reception Team Members

Our structure ensures that auxiliary employees manage theatre prep, cleaning, and equipment, allowing you to focus fully on nursing duties and patient care.

The Role

This is a busy and rewarding role in a fast-paced hospital environment, ideal for a nurse who is enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to build on their clinical skills.

• Salary - £25,000 to £28,000
• 37.5 hours per week
• Shifts between 7:00am - 8:00pm
• Includes OOH, night, and weekend shifts
• Opportunity to work with exotics cases (full training provided)
