Job description

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Medivet Solihull.

The candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with small animal practice experience, you put high standards of patient care first and can demonstrate how you’ve worked with empathy and demonstrated initiative when needed. You also understand not only your role but also the capabilities of PCA’s and student nurses, and are eager to help colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a busy team and possess the confidence to work alone when required; you will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and be happy to get stuck in wherever needed. You will see a wider range of cases whilst working alongside experienced colleagues and certificate holders.

Solihull practice provides excellent facilities and a comprehensive range of additional services including digital x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, capnography, ECG and soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. You will be exposed to a varied and interesting caseload as part of our bustling and tight-knit community.

This role is 40 hours per week with 1 in 6 full weekends.

Role Accountabilities

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
Your Skills and Experience
  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
