Job description

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse ready for an exciting new chapter? We’ve recently opened the doors to our state‑of‑the‑art, purpose‑built surgery in Whetstone, and we want you to join us on our journey!

About us

Our Practice Owner, Shweta Nakrani, qualified as a postgraduate from The University of Liverpool in 2011, and is currently working towards a Certificate in Veterinary Colourful Consulting CertNCS (VetCons). Shweta has special interests in cat friendly practices, soft tissue surgery but also Brachycephalic airway syndrome.

Shweta says: “I am looking forward to building a new team here at Whetstone that has a supportive work culture with a pro‑active team attitude, pathing the way to a friendly and happy work environment.”

The brand‑new surgery, opened in Summer 2025, is situated inside one of our stores and has been designed to deliver not only the highest clinical standards, but also a pleasant working environment for the whole team. We are equipped with digital and dental x‑rays facilities, theatre, separate cat/dog/isolation wards, as well as access to a very generous and large colleague room.

Our new practice can offer you the environment, caseload and equipment needed to utilise the skills you’ve gained to date whilst also giving you plenty of opportunity to develop further. We are proactive in continually supporting qualifications and CPD.

Located in the heart of Whetstone, our practice is well‑equipped with state‑of‑the‑art facilities, a loyal client base, and a supportive team committed to providing exceptional care to animals of all shapes and sizes. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and positive work environment where every team member is valued.

Whetstone is a delightful suburban area in the London Borough of Barnet, offering a harmonious blend of urban convenience and tranquil charm. Known for its welcoming community and excellent transport links, Whetstone is perfect for professionals and families alike. The area boasts an array of local amenities, including independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, as well as larger retail options. Surrounded by picturesque parks and green spaces, it provides an ideal escape for nature lovers.

For commuters, Whetstone’s transport links are unbeatable. You can be in central London in no time, while the nearby M25 and A1 make road travel a breeze. Yet, you’ll feel worlds away from the city hustle as you unwind in the serene surroundings of green spaces.

We are open 6 days a week Monday - Saturday (Monday - Friday: 9am - 7pm, Saturday: 9am - 5pm on a rota basis for 1:2)

As a brand‑new practice, we are happy to offer full or part time hours. We understand the importance of a healthy work/life balance and so we are open to discussions and welcome you to come and talk to us about what shifts would work best for you. There will be some weekend work included but no OOH required.

About you and the role

We’re looking for a proactive, enthusiastic team player who is keen to work in a progressive, fast paced first opinion practice, with high clinical standards. You’ll be a confident and motivated RVN with some experience behind you, if you are interested in and/or are a clinical coach this would be an advantage.

The key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the veterinary nurse role, delivering excellent patient and client care. You'll have the opportunity to help us shape the practice from day one.

We can offer you
  • An attractive salary of up to £30,000 (Dependant on experience/full time equivalent)
