Job summary

Autism Initiatives in Northern Ireland is seeking a Registered Service Manager to support individuals to achieve independence in daily living and social participation. You will lead a team, ensure high-quality care, and work within a rights-based framework that underpins the organisation.

The role requires a health/social care qualification or Level 5 Diploma, plus experience at Senior Support level, and a current UK driving licence. An enhanced Access NI check applies.

Qualifications

  • Meet the RQIA requirements to be a Registered Manager with a health or social care qualification or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Management.
  • Experience at Senior Support level or above per RQIA standards for a Registered Manager.
  • Experience supporting people with autism and complex needs.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Full UK driving licence, access to own car for at least 1 year with business insurance.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements and rights-based ethos in Day Care and Domiciliary Care Agencies standards.
  • NISCC registration.
  • Proficient in MS Office and report writing.

  • Support development of independence in daily living, work/education and leisure for service users.
  • Collaborate with service users and families to tailor care and activity plans.
  • Supervise staff with effective line management and governance.
  • Ensure compliance with RQIA standards and complete required checks such as Access NI.

Essential Criteria
  • Meet the RQIA requirements to be a Registered Manager when taking up appointment i.e. Health or Social Care professional qualification (considered relevant by the RQIA); or Level 5 Diploma (QCF5) in Leadership for Health and Social Care Management (Adults Management); or other equivalent Diploma/Degree/Post-Graduate qualification in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care.
  • Meet the required years supporting at Senior Support level or above, as defined within the RQIA standards for a Registered Manager.
  • Working knowledge of supporting people who have Autism, communication difficulties and associated complex needs.
  • Working knowledge of managing a team.
  • Full UK driving licence, with access to own car, to be held for at least 1 year with business insurance on appointment.
  • Knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements and application of a ‘rights based ethos’, in line with Day Care and Domiciliary Care Agencies RQIA Minimum Standards.
  • NISCC registration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, as well as accurate and detailed report writing skills.
