Job summary

St Elizabeth Hospice is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join the Zest Young Adult service. You will help extend respite care for young people with progressive illness, coordinating weekend short breaks and enabling independence in a supportive hospice setting.

Based in East Suffolk and surrounding areas, the role emphasizes safeguarding, teamwork, and compassionate care for young adults and their families. Training will be provided to support complex needs and planned activities.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience in Learning Disabilities or complex care is desirable.
• Willingness to work weekends and participate in Saturday/Sunday shifts.

Responsibilities

• Act as shift coordinator, leading short-break care for up to three young adults at the weekend.
• Support young adults to achieve goals and plan weekend activities.
• Encourage independence and self-management while recognising developmental needs.
