Job summary

The Rowans, a 66-bed nursing and dementia specialist care home in Wigan, is seeking a Qualified Registered Nurse to lead the care team and ensure high-quality resident care. You will oversee medication administration, liaise with GPs and families, and support staff to deliver compassionate, person-centred care.

Working 8am–8pm on a 44-hour week with alternate weekends, you will be part of EQ Care Group’s heart-centred team.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid NMC PIN – no restrictions.
• Experience in a similar environment desirable.
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the management team and ensure effective handovers at shift changes.
• Support and enable residents’ daily needs and wellbeing.
• Represent The Rowans brand with a professional, welcoming presence for residents, families and visitors.
• Liaise with GPs and multidisciplinary teams to promote excellent care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support overall operations.

Role Overview

Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with the management team and make sure that all relevant information is handed over at the change of shifts
• Ensure each person who lives in the home is supported, and enabled the person’s way – every day
• Represent The Rowans brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
• To liaise with people who live and work in the home along with, GPs’ and other multi-disciplinary team members to promote excellent care
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.

Skills, Qualifications and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within a similar environment desirable
• Valid NMC Pin - no restrictions
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
