We are seeking an experienced individual to join our WGH service as part of the Pre-Operative Assessment team. This fixed-term role covers a secondment and requires prior POA experience.
You will be part of a proactive team ensuring efficient theatre capacity utilization and positive patient experiences for elective surgery.
Ideal candidates will be organized, have excellent communication skills, and understand the risks associated with anesthesia and surgery, including co-morbidities.
Conduct holistic pre-operative assessments, manage complex co-morbidities, promote health, optimize patient condition, perform physical examinations, and work independently.
Collaborate with surgical clinicians, anesthetists, GPs, and other specialists to ensure patients are fit, ready, and scheduled at appropriate sites and times.
Our hospitals include Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital, along with community healthcare facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Services range from emergency and critical care to outpatient diagnostics, therapies, and surgeries, with additional outreach services.
