Join our Pre-Operative Assessment team at WGH. This role requires prior POA experience; it is a temporary secondment covering a fixed-term period.
You will be part of a proactive team ensuring optimal theatre capacity utilization and providing patients with safe, positive elective surgery experiences.
Ideal candidates will be organized, excellent communicators, and passionate about elective surgery, with a good understanding of anesthesia and surgery risks, including co-morbidities.
Conduct holistic pre-operative assessments, manage complex co-morbidities, promote health, optimize patient conditions, and perform physical examinations autonomously.
Collaborate with surgical clinicians, anesthetists, GPs, and other specialists to ensure patients are fit, ready, and scheduled appropriately for surgery at safe sites and times.
Our organization operates from three main hospitals—Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital—and several community healthcare facilities, providing comprehensive planned and emergency care services.
