Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to act as person in charge when needed and to uphold high standards of resident care across our London-area homes. You will lead the care team, coordinate medication administration, and collaborate with families and GPs to keep everyone informed and involved in care decisions.

You will be NMC registered with a First Level qualification and have at least two years' relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a First Level qualification and be registered with the NMC.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in care, with post-basic studies/qualification preferred.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and can instruct/lead care activities.
  • Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
  • Advising families and GPs of changes in resident condition and involving them in care decisions.
  • Supervising and deploying care staff to ensure duties are completed during the shift.
  • Providing high standards of care through accurate assessment and care planning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Registered Nurse will be to act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and observe all instructions to act upon his/her behalf whilst you ensure high standards of care to our residents.


Other responsibilities will include:



  • Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.

  • Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.

  • Responsibility for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.

  • Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

  • Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
