Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, dedicated Registered Nurse for Albion Court Care Home in Birmingham. You will act as person in charge, support the Manager, and ensure high standards of care for residents.

Key tasks include medication management, care planning, and supervising the care team, with a focus on compassion and professionalism in a close-knit team.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a First Level qualification and be registered with the NMC.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
  • Ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities with good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake nursing tasks including medication administration, dressings, catheterisation and chronic condition management.
  • Advise families and GPs of changes in residents' condition and keep them informed.
  • Supervise and deploy care team staff to ensure duties are completed during duty periods.
  • Provide high standards of care through accurate assessment and care planning.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as aRegistered Nursewill beto act as person in charge,standingin for the Manager asrequiredandobserveall instructions to act upon his/her behalfwhilst youensurehigh standardsof care toourresidents.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Undertakingnursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
  • Advisingfamilies of residents andGPsof any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
  • Responsibilityfor the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
  • Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

Our ideal candidatemust:

  • Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
  • Demonstrate a minimum 2years’ experienceand up to date knowledge of care,supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.
  • Display good interpersonal skills and ability to instruct anddemonstratecare activities.
  • Have Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
