Job summary

Avery Healthcare seeks a registered nurse for Purley Gardens Care Home in Purley, Surrey. You will act as person in charge when needed and ensure high standards of care for residents.

You will oversee care plans, administer medications, supervise on-duty staff, and liaise with families and GPs to support ongoing care decisions. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required and funded by Avery.

Qualifications

• First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience and up-to-date knowledge of care.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities.
• Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
• Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition, keeping them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
• Responsibility for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team during duty, ensuring residents receive required care.
• Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

About The Role

Your focus as a Registered Nurse will be to act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and observe all instructions to act upon his/her behalf whilst you ensure high standards of care to our residents.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic medical conditions.
• Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
• Responsibility for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
• Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.

Our Ideal Candidate Must

• Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
• Demonstrate a minimum 2 years’ experience and up to date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.

• Have Sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
