Job summary

Priority Care Group is seeking a Registered Nurse in Scotland, Dundee. You will lead shifts, deliver safe, person-centred nursing care and provide clinical leadership across the service. You will oversee medication administration and coordinate care with GPs and families.

The role requires current NMC registration with an active PIN and prior nursing experience in care settings. A commitment to high standards and ongoing professional development is essential.

Qualifications

  • Current NMC registration with an active Nursing PIN.
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse, ideally in care home or similar setting.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and medication management skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and provide clinical leadership across the service.
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality, person-centred nursing care.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments in line with standards and policies.
  • Monitor health and wellbeing and take appropriate clinical action.
  • Complete clinical assessments, care planning, reviews and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate care with families and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
  • Mentor and support care staff with clinical guidance.
  • Promote safeguarding, infection prevention and safe clinical practice.
  • Contribute to audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure care aligns with NMC standards and policies.

Rate of pay: £22.26 basic, up to £33.39 per hour (overtime rate)

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead shifts and provide clinical leadership across the service.
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality, person-centred nursing care.
  • Safely administer medications and treatments in line with professional standards and Company policies.
  • Monitor the health and wellbeing of the people we support, recognising signs of deterioration and taking appropriate clinical action.
  • Complete clinical assessments, care planning, reviews and risk assessments tailored to the needs of the people we support.
  • Work collaboratively with the people we support, their families, GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, paramedics and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate care records, medication records and clinical documentation.
  • Support, supervise and mentor care staff, providing clinical guidance and leadership.
  • Promote safeguarding, infection prevention and safe clinical practice.
  • Contribute to audits, quality improvement initiatives and inspection readiness.
  • Ensure care is delivered in line with NMC standards, Health & Social Care Standards, Care Inspectorate requirements and Company policies.
What We're Looking For
  • Current NMC registration with an active Nursing PIN.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse, ideally within a care home or similar care setting.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, medication management and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Experience assessing needs, developing person-centred care plans and reviewing outcomes.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • The confidence to lead shifts and support the wider care team.
  • A compassionate, professional and person-centred approach to care.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high clinical standards.

Experience in dementia care, mentoring colleagues or undertaking additional clinical training would be advantageous but is not essential.

This role requires PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to obtain) and satisfactory references in line with Safer Recruitment guidance.
