Job summary

Somerset Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for Wessex House in Somerton. You will provide nursing care within the home, following NMC guidelines and promoting a person-centered approach in collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with the NMC registration
• Understanding of NMC Code of Practice
• Understanding the needs of older people
• Prepared to undertake basic IT Training
• Empathetic and caring approach with dignity
• Competent in all basic RN procedures
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a team
• Good communication and confidentiality
• Willingness to participate in training and appraisal

Responsibilities

• Work according to the NMC Code and guidelines with service users needing nursing care in the home
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care and participate in reviews
• Promote person-centred care within the home and multi-disciplinary teams
• Deliver clinical interventions and assist in personal care as required
• Maintain accurate and detailed records and manage time for care staff
• Supervise care staff day-to-day and ensure safe, effective and responsive care
• Mentor less experienced staff and maintain professional portfolio with reflective practice
• Work in line with Somerset Care policies and contribute to the Strategic Plan
• Maintain safety and a clean environment; follow infection prevention and control policies
• Contribute to audits/Quality Assurance and support staff development
