Job summary

Highwood Care Home, part of Care Concern Group Limited, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) to join our clinical team in a purpose-built facility in Northam/Bideford area. You will deliver high-quality, clinically led care and lead a shift, ensuring safe, person-centred practice.

The role requires an active NMC PIN, strong clinical judgement, and excellent communication. Ongoing training and funded development pave the way for progression into Senior, Clinical Lead and Management roles.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC PIN.
• Strong clinical judgement and decision making skills.
• Confidence in leading shifts and supporting a team.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Experience in a care home setting is beneficial, but nurses from various backgrounds are welcome to develop in this environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs, develop and review care plans, administer medication, and monitor physical and mental health changes.
• Lead shifts, support and guide the care team, make informed clinical decisions, and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain high standards and accurate documentation, contributing to a well-organised, professional environment.
• Collaborate with residents, families and healthcare professionals to prioritise dignity, independence and wellbeing.
• The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

Highwood Care Home is a brand new, purpose-built facility nested in the picturesque and historic port town of Bideford. Our luxury care home offers a warm and welcoming environment for up to 67 residents, providing Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care. Registered Nurse RGN or RMN Contract

• £22.36 per hour
• Contracted to 36 hours per week
• Paid DBS, NMC, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Ongoing training, clinical updates and funded development, with clear and supported progression into Senior, Clinical Lead and Management roles, within a well led, professional environment where your skills are recognised and developed.

Role Overview

As Registered Nurse, you will play a central role in delivering high quality, clinically led care while taking responsibility for maintaining safe, effective and person centred practice across your shift. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership, ensuring standards are upheld and care is delivered consistently in line with best practice.

You will assess needs, develop and review care plans, administer medication and monitor changes in physical and mental health. Leading shifts, you will support and guide the care team, make informed clinical decisions and respond promptly to changing needs, ensuring continuity and quality of care at all times.

Working closely with residents, families and healthcare professionals, you will use your judgement and experience to maintain high standards, ensure accurate documentation and contribute to a well organised, professional environment where dignity, independence and wellbeing are always prioritised.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
