Job summary

Highwood Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping team and ensure a clean, welcoming environment at all times. You will oversee rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, coordinate operations and drive high standards of hygiene and presentation.

The role requires strong leadership, planning and attention to detail, with responsibilities including training, supervision, and ensuring compliance with infection control and health and safety procedures.

Highwood Care Home is a brand new, purpose-built facility nestled in the picturesque and historic port town of Bideford. Head Housekeeper Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 36 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Head Housekeeper, you will take overall responsibility for the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment is maintained at all times. This is a key leadership role where your standards and attention to detail will directly impact daily life and overall experience.

You will lead and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing the cleaning of residents’ rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas to ensure consistently high standards of hygiene and presentation. You will coordinate daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.

Working closely with other departments, you will ensure a well organised and responsive service. You will monitor quality, manage supplies and support your team through training, guidance and leadership, creating a positive and high performing environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
