We are seeking a confident and experienced Registered Nurse to support a gentleman with complex care needs in Sussex, BN8. This is a fulfilling opportunity to join a consistent care setup and contribute your clinical oversight to a well-structured care package.

About The Role

You will support a male client living with a high-level Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) in his own home. He enjoys Brazilian food and culture, communicates most comfortably in Portuguese, and speaks English. The client has an established care team. As the RN, you will attend one day a week to perform suprapubic catheter (SPC) changes, review bowel care, oversee medication, assist with clinical checks, and monitor skin integrity. Your presence will ensure safe practice, consistency, and reassurance for both the client and the team.

This role is open to female nurses only, due to the intimate nature of care and to respect the client's privacy and dignity. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the client one day per week (female nurse requested)
• Performing SPC changes
• Reviewing bowel care routines
• Providing medication oversight
• Supporting skin integrity and conducting basic clinical assessments
• Collaborating with the care team on shift
• Ensuring continuity and safety within the care setup

Job Details

• Job Type: Part-time, one day per week (8am - 8pm)
• Pay Rate: £33.50 per hour
• Location: Sussex, BN8 (near Lewes / Brighton), with easy parking at the property
• Driver: Helpful due to rural location
• Start Date: To be confirmed

Qualifications & Experience

Looking for a confident, professional female Registered Nurse with experience in complex care. Experience with SCI or similar conditions is advantageous. Portuguese language skills are a plus.

Training & Support

You will be fully briefed on the client's setup and preferences. Paragon Home Healthcare provides support and guidance as needed, with a structured rota and coordination support.
