Key Responsibilities

As a Band 6 Registered Midwife representing Evolve Staffing Ltd. within a major Cheshire NHS acute hospital, you will provide advanced, autonomous, and evidence-based midwifery care across acute maternity wards.

Your core duties will include:

• Intrapartum Care: Managing labor, conducting spontaneous vaginal deliveries, assisting in complex obstetric interventions, and monitoring maternal-fetal wellbeing.
• CTG Interpretation: Executing continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and interpreting cardiotocography (CTG) traces to identify fetal distress.
• MDT Collaboration: Working alongside consultant obstetricians, anaesthetists, neonatal practitioners, and scrub teams during low and high-risk deliveries.
• Medication Management: Safely calculating, administering, and auditing obstetric medications, IV fluids, analgesia, entonox, and epidural infusions per NMC guidelines.
• Clinical Skills: Executing perineal repair, suturing, venepuncture, cannulation, bladder catheterization, and neonatal resuscitation when required.
• Triage Assessment: Conducting rapid maternal assessments in maternity triage, evaluating gestational age, labor onset, and obstetric risk factors.
• Maternal Advocacy: Delivering compassionate, woman-centered care, supporting infant feeding choices, and guiding families through postnatal recovery.
• Clinical Leadership: Providing clinical supervision, shift coordination support, and mentorship to Band 5 midwives, student midwives, and maternity support workers.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this Band 6 Registered Midwife (RM) application via Evolve Staffing Ltd. in Cheshire, you must demonstrate:

• Valid NMC PIN: Active registration as a Registered Midwife (RM) on the NMC register with no restrictions on practice.
• Midwifery Competence: Strong working knowledge of intrapartum care, high-risk obstetrics, CTG interpretation, and saving babies' lives care bundles.
• Hospital Experience: Minimum 12–18 months post-qualification clinical experience within an NHS acute hospital delivery suite or maternity inpatient unit.
• Communication Skills: Meticulous clinical recording capability on electronic patient record systems (EHR/EuroKing/K2/BadgerNet).
• Life Support Training: Valid certification in Newborn Life Support (NLS) or PROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) is highly advantageous.
• Compliance & Vetting: Valid UK Right to Work, Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, and complete occupational health clearance.
