Job description

We have an opportunity available for a PART TIME Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the team at Ashwood Court Supportive Pathways based in Lowton, Warrington WA3 2RB.

Salary: £24,898 per annum - salary will increase to £27,171 after successful probation.

Main duties of the job

Are you a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse looking for a new fulfilling role?

You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating care, and managing safe medication practices for the people we support. You will also support the Hospital Manager in managing and developing Ashwood Court Supportive Pathways.

You will act as a named professional for the individuals we support, ensuring person-centred care is at the core to promote rehabilitation, recovery, and social inclusion, while developing supportive and empathetic relationships with patients and carers.

As a nurse, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, both internally and externally, to positively influence the lives of your patients and their families.

Job responsibilities
  • Act as a named professional for supported individuals, ensuring person-centred care to promote rehabilitation, recovery, and social inclusion, while developing supportive relationships with patients and carers.
  • Manage a team, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed, and provide professional handovers.
  • Participate in setting, monitoring, and evaluating care standards, and contribute to clinical governance.
  • Adhere to statutory responsibilities including the NMC Code of Conduct, National Service Frameworks, and other relevant standards and guidance.
  • Ensure comprehensive pre-admission assessments, individualized care plans, risk assessments, and discharge planning are in place, supporting rehabilitation and social inclusion.
  • Work collaboratively with the support team, carers, and other organizations to deliver effective, integrated services with optimal outcomes.
  • Attend mandatory and optional training, and participate in staff and student training as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required.
  • Use assessment tools like RecoveryStar to plan and review care, arranging specialist support when necessary.
  • Ensure safety by reporting concerns through safeguarding policies and whistleblowing procedures.
  • Comply with statutory and organizational policies, including health and safety, mental health, and capacity laws.
  • Promote equality and diversity, valuing all individuals.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed to meet organizational goals.
  • Report safeguarding concerns promptly, adhering to policies.
Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Effective communication skills with service users, carers, and professionals.
  • Ability to develop and deliver person-centred care, and assess and review needs.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Knowledge of clinical risk management and infection control.
  • Understanding of legislation including the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and standards for healthcare.
  • Respect for service users' perspectives and choices.
  • Commitment to a safe, open, and trusting environment.
  • Awareness of working with vulnerable adults and professional boundaries.
  • Understanding of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy principles.
Qualifications

Experience
  • Experience in adult mental health rehabilitation.
  • Experience in facilitating therapeutic programs and promoting independence and recovery.
  • Experience in planning, monitoring, and evaluating work.
  • Experience with socially inclusive care planning.
  • Proficiency in information technology.
  • Experience supervising staff, including clinical supervision.
