We have flexible bank shifts and long-term placements for Band 5 Mental Health Nurses available at University Hospital Southampton. The hospital has a rich tradition of developing Nursing and Midwifery practice, delivering excellence in patient care. Main duties of the job

1. Assessing and planning nursing care requirements
2. Building relationships with, reassuring, listening to, and talking to patients

Job responsibilities

Person Specification

• Minimum of 6 months MH RN UK (Private or NHS) hospital or prison experience within the last 2 years, or completion of a Return to Practice within the last 2 years
• NMC registration
• Experience in a mental health hospital setting
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to maintain high standards of record keeping
• Ability to work independently
• Proficiency in delivering patient care
• Completion of mandatory training

Qualifications

• At least 6 months experience as a Mental Health Registered Nurse or equivalent in a mental health hospital or prison within the last 2 years
• MH Nursing Degree and valid NMC registration
