Job summary

Domus Recruitment is assisting a 32-bed specialist service in recruiting a Registered Manager to take overall responsibility for quality, clinical oversight and person-centred care for adults with ABI and neurological conditions.

The role requires NMC/HCPC registration, a Level 5 Diploma (or progression towards it), and experience with ABI and neurological rehabilitation. On-site leadership with some on-call duties and a strong focus on staff development and budgets.

Qualifications

• NMC or HCPC registration is essential.
• Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care or working towards it.
• Experience supporting individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
• Experience working within neurological rehabilitation.
• Tracheostomy management experience would be beneficial.
• Ventilation support experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care and compliance.
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of care delivery for residents' complex health and neurological needs.
• Oversee safe delivery of clinical interventions and ensure staff have training, competence and support.
• Lead, support and develop the care team.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to take overall responsibility for a 32-bed specialist service supporting males and females with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), progressive neurological conditions and associated physical health needs.

The service supports individuals with a range of complex needs, including epilepsy, communication and swallowing difficulties, as well as individuals who may require respiratory support through ventilation and/or tracheostomy.

This is a full-time leadership position, working 37.5 hours per week with some on-call responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the service, including quality, compliance, clinical oversight, and the delivery of high standards of person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities of a Registered Manager:

• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring high standards of care and compliance
• Providing clinical leadership and oversight of care delivery, ensuring residents' complex health and neurological needs are appropriately assessed, managed and reviewed
• Overseeing the safe delivery of clinical interventions and ensuring staff have the appropriate training, competence and support to meet residents' needs
• Leading, supporting and developing a dedicated care team
• Supporting the assessment and implementation of individual care plans
• Ensuring a safe, positive and nurturing environment for residents
• Promoting dignity, wellbeing and independence across the service
• Supporting residents to achieve their goals, develop skills and confidence, and engage in meaningful activities within the community

• Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for residents

Key requirements of a Registered Manager:

• NMC or HCPC registration is essential
• Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent, or working towards it
• Experience supporting individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
• Experience working within neurological rehabilitation
• Experience in tracheostomy management would be beneficial
• Experience supporting people requiring long-term ventilation would be beneficial
