Job summary

NFP People is recruiting for a Registered Manager to lead the opening of a brand-new children’s residential home in Milton Keynes. The role is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £50,000 per year.

The home, opening early 2027, will provide a safe, nurturing environment for 8-16-year-olds with EBD. You will shape culture, lead a high-performing team and oversee safeguarding and care planning from inception.

Qualifications

• Experience within children's and/or residential care.
• A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• A passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
• Relevant management qualifications or a commitment to achieve them.

Responsibilities

• Support the home opening.
• Develop and implement high-quality care practices in line with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Develop and inspire a skilled and compassionate staff team.
• Oversee safeguarding, care planning and risk management.
• Ensure children and young people remain at heart of all decision-making.
• Drive quality assurance, continuous improvement and positive outcomes for residents.
• Build strong relationships with professionals, families and external agencies.
