Job summary

Headway Adolescent Resources is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a three-bed children's home in Bridgwater. You will shape the culture, support a skilled team and ensure high-quality, safe, child-centered care in line with Ofsted Good ratings.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of Children's Homes Regulations, Ofsted requirements and safeguarding practices.
• Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it.
• Two years’ recent experience in residential childcare within the last five years.
• At least one year supervising and managing staff in a care setting.
• Full UK manual driving licence and willingness to participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an established three-bed children's home to provide high‑quality, individualized care.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation, including compliance, administration and performance.
• Maintain care planning, records, reporting and monitoring to a high standard.
• Motivate and develop staff, fostering a child‑focused culture.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and Ofsted standards, and build positive relationships with families and authorities.
• Drive continuous improvement to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
