Job summary

Leaders in Care is seeking a Registered Manager for a 4-bed EBD childrens home in Hyde, Greater Manchester. The role oversees day-to-day operations, safeguarding, care planning and staff management to deliver high-quality outcomes for children.

You will lead with compassion, ensure compliance with Regulation 44/45 and Ofsted standards, and drive continuous improvement in education, health and wellbeing for looked after children.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in childrens residential care within the last five years.
• At least one year supervising or managing staff in a care environment.
• Experience as Registered/ Deputy Manager or senior leader in a childrens home.
• Qualified to regulatory timescales per Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and management to the residential care team.
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
• Create a safe, warm, and child-centred environment for children to thrive.
• Maintain safeguarding arrangements and respond to incidents and safeguarding concerns.
• Lead care planning, risk assessment, placement matching, admissions and transitions.
• Ensure children’s views and identities are central to care delivery.
• Drive outcomes in education, health, wellbeing, independence and adulthood prep.
• Oversee staffing, rotas, safer recruitment, induction, supervision and training.
• Coach staff to maintain high professional standards and performance.
• Manage Regulation 44 visits and Quality of Care Reviews.
• Monitor quality, safeguarding, incidents, complaints and regulatory reports.
• Maintain records, notifications and regulatory reporting within timescales.
• Build relationships with social workers, families, schools and safeguarding partners.
• Oversee budget, resources, health and safety, and premises.
