Registered Manager - Domiciliary Care

Location: Falkirk, Scotland

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum

Full-Time - Permanent

Compass Associates are working in partnership with an established home care provider to recruit a Registered Manager for its service in Falkirk. This is an opportunity for an experienced Home Care Manager or Deputy Manager ready to take the next step and lead a service with strong local authority relationships, positive stakeholder feedback and excellent Care Inspectorate grades.

The service delivers approximately 800 to 850 hours of care per week across Falkirk and the surrounding area. With an established workforce and dedicated central support functions, the incoming manager will have the opportunity to maintain high standards, develop the team and support sustainable service growth.

THE ROLE

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running, quality and performance of the domiciliary care service. You will lead the local team, ensuring people receive safe, reliable and person-centred care in their own homes.

The service has strong relationships with local authorities and commissioners and is a well-established provider of commissioned care packages. You will build on this foundation, maintaining quality and strengthening the service's position within a competitive local market.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the service, ensuring safe, reliable and person-centred care.
• Leading, motivating and developing the Care Coordinator and support worker teams, promoting a positive and supportive working culture.
• Maintaining Care Inspectorate standards and supporting the service to sustain its existing strong grades.
• Ensuring support plans, staff training, supervision and quality assurance processes remain up to date.
• Working with central risk and compliance teams to maintain regulatory readiness, support audits and address any areas for improvement.
• Promoting safeguarding, health and safety and best practice, responding appropriately to incidents, concerns and changes in people's needs.
• Overseeing recruitment, induction, staff performance, retention, absence management and staffing cover.
• Monitoring care hours, service capacity and scheduling, responding to changing needs and local authority requirements.
• Building strong relationships with people receiving support, families, commissioners, local authorities and other professionals.
• Participating in the on-call rota, currently shared with the Team Coordinator on a fortnightly rotation.
• Identifying opportunities to develop the service and increase care provision while maintaining quality, financial sustainability and workforce stability.

You will be supported by an experienced Head of Operations and established central teams covering HR, recruitment, training and development, risk and compliance, IT and administration. This wider infrastructure helps reduce the administrative burden on the Registered Manager, allowing you to focus on service delivery, team leadership and quality of care.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a confident, organised and compassionate care professional who understands the demands of managing a domiciliary care service and can lead a team effectively.

You will ideally have:

• Experience managing a domiciliary or home care service, preferably with around two years' experience as a Home Care Manager or Deputy Manager.
• An SVQ Level 4 and relevant Leadership and Management qualifications, or an SVQ Level 3 with a willingness to work towards the required qualifications.
• A strong understanding of Care Inspectorate regulations, safeguarding, quality assurance and compliance.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with local authorities, commissioners and other key stakeholders.
• Experience overseeing staff teams, care delivery, recruitment, training and performance management.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and respond calmly and effectively to operational challenges.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• An understanding of local authority-funded care packages and the operational requirements of a home care service.

Previous Registered Manager experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Experienced Deputy Managers or Care Managers ready to step up will also be considered, provided they can demonstrate the ability to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a service.

If you are not already registered, you must be willing to undertake the relevant SSSC and Registered Manager registration processes and complete any required management qualifications. Training and internal support will be available.
