Job summary

Portman Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a brand-newChildren's Residential Home in West Yorkshire. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure Ofsted compliance, and create a safe, nurturing environment that supports children and young people to thrive.

You will recruit and develop a dedicated team, drive service growth from a solo placement to a multi-bed provision, and lead on care planning, risk management, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• 12 months' experience as Registered Manager in a children's residential setting.
• Experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children's residential legislation.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not offered).

Responsibilities

Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home

Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a brand-new Children's Residential Home in West Yorkshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new service from the ground up. The home will initially operate as a solo residential placement, with plans to develop into a multi-bed home as the service grows. You will have the opportunity to shape the culture, recruit and develop your team, and ensure the highest standards of care for children and young people.

About the Role

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and delivering outstanding care that enables children and young people to thrive. You will create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment while leading a committed staff team and driving continuous improvement.

• Register and manage the children's residential home in line with Ofsted requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 12 months' experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential setting.
• Previous experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children's residential legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Right to work in the UK (please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship).
