Job description

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Chesterfield, Derbyshire area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

This is a low secure unit for males with a learning disability, including those with co-morbid personality disorders, mental illnesses, and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs).

To be considered for this position, you must be qualified as a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with a current active NMC Pin.

Key duties include:
  1. Providing high-quality care in acute wards, low and medium secure wards, with patients suffering from Personality Disorders and Enduring Mental Illness, including acute episodes of illness.
  2. Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement.
  3. Following all codes of conduct, standards, and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice.
  4. Contributing to patient assessments, creating a care plan alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress.
  5. Mentoring and supporting student nurses and other team members.
  6. Promoting professional development within the team.
Preferred skills and experience:
  1. A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice.
  2. The drive to continually push your own personal learning and development.
  3. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act.
  4. Patient-centric approach & commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Salary and benefits:

The successful Nurse will receive an excellent salary GBP32,760 - GBP38,716.08 per annum. We currently have permanent vacancies for both day and night shifts. In return, you will receive:
