Job summary

Ann's Home Care in Newry seeks a dedicated nurse to provide high-quality care in line with the NMC code. You will oversee daily nursing and personal care, tailoring support to each resident’s needs and collaborating with families, GPs, and local health professionals.

The role focuses on preserving privacy, dignity, independence, and rights, while promoting choice and fulfilment. You will lead in care planning, engage in training, and ensure a stimulating environment where residents come first.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the NMC code of conduct in all care & practice
• Ensure the well-being of residents by maintaining the six values: Privacy, Dignity, Independence, Choice, Rights, Fulfilment
• Liaise with residents' family, GP, Community Nurses, specialists, pharmacists, local authorities, councils, and other care-related bodies
• Lead nursing and ensure daily nursing and personal care meets residents' needs
• Liaise with Home Manager/Deputy Manager and senior staff on issues
• Promote independence and choice in residents' daily living and activities
• Participate in training to maintain skills and work safely
• Provide a stimulating and attractive environment for residents
• Place residents at the heart of all we do

Job description

KeyResponsibilities

• To ensure adherence to the NMC code of conduct in all areas of care & practice
• To ensure the well-being of all residents in maintaining the Six broad values of Privacy, Dignity, Independence, Choice, Rights, and Fulfilment
• To liaise with the resident’s family, friends, GP, Community Nurses, specialists, pharmacists, local authorities, local councils, voluntary bodies and any other associations related the care for the residents
• To take the lead in nursing, ensuring that the nursing and personal care of residents is maintained on a daily basis and in accordance to the individuals’ needs, capabilities and requirement
• To liaise with Home Manager and/or Deputy Manager and other senior members of the management team on any issues that might arise
• To actively promote and encourage as much personal independence and choice as possible in the resident’s daily living and activities undertaken within the home
• To take part in any associated training activities in order that you ascertain the skills and knowledge to carry out your role in an effective and safe manner
• To ensure that as much of a stimulating and attractive environment as possible is provided for the residents
• To put residents at the heart of all we do
