Job summary

Dovehaven Care Homes is seeking a Registered General Nurse for night shifts at Birch Abbey in Southport. 12-hour shifts from 8pm to 8am, 48 hours per fortnight, with a £1,500 welcome bonus.

Join a friendly, family-run team dedicated to dignity and person-centred care. You’ll lead and support the care team, administer medication, monitor nutrition, and ensure high clinical standards while building strong relationships with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must be currently registered with the NMC (valid PIN).
• Previous care home or elderly care experience.
• Experience in medication administration.
• Knowledge of wound care, infection control and pressure area care.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Good time management and organisational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care.
• Advise, guide and support the care team.
• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Monitor residents' nutritional and dietary needs.
• Support wound care, infection control and pressure area care.
• Reviewing and completing care documentation accurately.
• Ensuring clinical interventions are clearly recorded.
• Leaving concise and personalised instructions for ongoing care.
• Leading by example to promote a safe environment for residents and staff.
