Job summary

Esland is seeking a Registered Children's Home Manager to lead our Wakefield residential home in Castleford for 6 to 18-year-olds with complex needs, ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding.

You will oversee daily operations, manage a small team, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and safer recruitment practices, to support positive outcomes for every child.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is essential.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is highly desirable.
• Minimum 2 years in a role relevant to residential care of children.
• At least 12 months in a managerial/senior/team leader/supervisory role within care.
• In-depth knowledge of legislation, best practice and Ofsted regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Wakefield/Social home operations for 6–18-year-olds with complex needs.
• Ensure safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and high-quality care standards.
• Develop and support the care team through coaching, supervision and training.
• Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children in care.

Salary: Up to £55,000 (DOE) + Bonus up to £8,500

Our Wakefield home is a solo service, offering a smaller, safe and nurturing place for 6 to 18-year-olds with complex behavioural, emotional, and social needs.

For This Role, We Need Someone Who Has

• Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential)
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (highly desirable)
• A minimum 2 years in a position relevant to residential care of children (essential)
• A minimum of 12 months experience in a managerial/senior/team leader/supervisory role within care
• In depth knowledge of relevant legislation, best practice and regulatory expectations, such as Ofsted regulations (essential)
