Job summary

Suffolk County Council is recruiting a Registered Children's Home Manager for Beccles Children's Home, a mixed gendered home for up to 4 children aged 11-17. The role focuses on delivering high-quality care, safeguarding, and compliance with statutory regulations.

You will lead the home, recruit and develop staff, manage on-call duties, and build strong partnerships with families and agencies to improve outcomes for young people in our care.

Qualifications

• Last 5 years experience in residential care of children, with at least 1 year in staff supervision/management.
• Willing to gain Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
• Flexibility to undertake on-call duties.
• Experience in the Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD) sector.
• Full UK Driving Licence with access to own transport.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Children's Home to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
• Ensure safeguarding and risk management, maintaining Ofsted compliance.
• Recruit, supervise, and develop staff to deliver high quality care.
• Oversee quality assurance, complaints, and reporting for continuous improvement.
• Build partnerships with families, agencies and the wider community.
• Provide cover and manage out-of-hours on-call service.
