Job summary

Sweco UK Ltd in the UK is seeking a qualified Building Control expert to manage plan checks and site visits under Building Regulation approvals. You will advise clients and design teams, ensuring compliance with quality management standards and project governance. A full driving licence and RBI registration are essential, with flexible, hybrid working and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Building Control professional with RBI registration and a track record in Building Regulation compliance.
  • Experience delivering plan checks for Building Regulation approvals and site visits.
  • Strong communication skills for client meetings and design team coordination.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management systems and project controls.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
  • Conduct site visits and prepare site visit reports; witness tests requiring a full driving licence.
  • Attend client and design team meetings to provide professional Building Control advice.
  • Maintain compliance with Quality Management system and project governance.

What does the role involve?

You’ll manage a broad and interesting range of projects where you will be a member of a highly motivated team and have responsibility for:



  • Undertaking plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.

  • Undertaking site visits, preparing site visit reports, witnessing tests (therefore a full, valid driving licence is essential).

  • Attending client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building control work.

  • Be familiar with and use the management systems, including complying with the Quality Management system.

  • Operating in accordance with the commercial requirements of the projects (costs and programme).
