Job summary

Sweco Building Control is seeking motivated Class 2 and 3 Building Inspectors to join our team in the UK. The role offers a hybrid working model, typically three days in office or on site and two days at home, with travel to client sites as needed.

You will perform plan checks, site visits, and witness tests while partnering with clients and design teams to ensure compliant, high-quality Building Control services. A relevant accreditation and RBI registration are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced Building Inspector with RBI registration and strong Building Control experience
• Proactive, client-focused, able to liaise with design teams and stakeholders
• Willingness to travel and operate in a hybrid office/site and remote setting

Responsibilities

• Undertake plan checks for Building Regulation approval
• Conduct site visits and prepare site visit reports
• Witness tests and maintain driving licence for site travel
• Attend client/design team meetings to provide professional Building Control advice
• Comply with Quality Management systems and project commercial requirements

We are currently looking for motivated Class 2 and 3 Building Inspectors to join our team. We we operate a hybrid model which for us means typically 3 days in the office or on site and 2 days at home (depending on the need for site visits/clients meetings).

What does the role involve?

You'll manage a broad and interesting range of projects where you will be a member of a highly motivated team and have responsibility for:

• Undertaking plan checks submitted for Building Regulation approval.
• Undertaking site visits, preparing site visit reports, witnessing tests (therefore a full, valid driving licence is essential).
• Attending client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building control work.
• Be familiar with and use the management systems, including complying with the Quality Management system.
• Operating in accordance with the commercial requirements of the projects (costs and programme).
