Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Interim Class 2D+ Building Inspector for an Essex-based role. The contract runs for 12 months with a strong likelihood of extension and a competitive rate of £60 per hour, supporting hybrid working and long-term flexibility.

The role involves site inspections, remote plan checking, and advising on Building Regulations compliance to ensure safety and regulatory standards are met.

Qualifications

• Class 2D+ registration with BSR is required.
• Proven experience in Building Control or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and current legislation.
• Ability to work autonomously on an interim basis and travel to sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections across a range of building types.
• Perform remote plan checks and provide technical guidance.
• Assess compliance with Building Regulations and advise stakeholders.
• Liaise with applicants, contractors and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure works meet statutory and safety standards.

We are currently seeking an experienced Class 2D+ Building Inspector for an interim opportunity based in Essex. This is an initial 12-month contract, with a strong view to extension due to ongoing workload.

The Role

• * Site Inspections
• * Remote Plan Checking

Key Responsibilities

• * Carrying out site inspections across a range of building types
• * Assessing compliance with Building Regulations
• * Plan checking and providing technical advice
• * Liaising with applicants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• * Ensuring works meet statutory and safety standards

Requirements

• * Must be Class 2D+ registered with the BSR
• * Proven experience within Building Control
• * Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and legislation * Ability to work autonomously in an interim capacity
• * Full UK driving licence (due to site visits)
