Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is seeking a Transport Regional General Manager to lead our M&S sites in Bradford, Daventry and Peterborough. You will provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of transport operations, guiding Transport Managers and senior teams to uphold standards, safety, and compliance while driving performance and growth.

The role focuses on fleet strategy, governance and regional operations, with accountability for budgets, KPIs and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience across multi-site transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
• Knowledge of transport legislation, fleet compliance, operator licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing budgets, P&Ls, forecasting and contractual performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, able to influence customers, senior leaders and external bodies.
• Leadership and people development, including coaching senior managers and succession planning.
• Experience delivering large-scale change and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Full UK Driving Licence and International CPC.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the regional transport strategy, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and wider business goals.
• Oversee transport performance across multiple sites, monitoring service, compliance, productivity, KPIs and operational risk.
• Act as the senior escalation point for significant transport, safety, customer, people and operational issues.
• Manage regional budgets, forecasts and commercial performance, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
• Provide leadership, coaching and development to Transport Managers, building capability and succession across the region.
• Drive fleet governance, ensuring vehicles and transport assets are legally compliant, operationally available and fit for purpose.
• Champion continuous improvement, innovation and best practice by implementing scalable solutions across the transport network.
