Job summary

United Utilities is seeking a Regional System Performance Manager to lead regional operations across wastewater, bioresources and energy services. You will translate long-term plans into practical improvements, drive TOTEX decisions and engage frontline teams to deliver measurable performance gains.

This site-based leadership role requires visible presence across operational sites, strong stakeholder management and a track record of transformation.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in wastewater or bioresources environments.
• Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary operational teams.
• Strong understanding of wastewater, bioresource operations and regulatory challenges.
• Ability to translate long-term strategy into practical improvements for frontline operations.
• Experience influencing investment decisions and prioritising resources.
• Track record of leading transformation and embedding change.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional teams across System Operations, Regional Performance and Energy Generation with a safety- and outcomes-focused culture.
• Own performance metrics for operational, environmental and business measures and drive sustainable improvements.
• Bridge frontline operations with strategic transformation, translating plans into better customer outcomes.
• Apply TOTEX thinking to prioritise operational and capital investments for value and resilience.
• Collaborate with Wastewater Operations, Asset Management, Engineering and Planning to identify opportunities and manage risks.
• Develop and deliver regional improvement plans using data to address root causes and improve efficiency and compliance.
• Provide visible leadership across sites and ensure frontline realities shape future strategy and investment decisions.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement to simplify day-to-day delivery.
